GKY President Stu Stein, PE, D.WRE and several GKY technical professionals will speak at the 2020 Virginia Water Conference in Richmond, Virginia. Stu, who is also the Conference Chair, will open the two-day event with the welcome keynote address. Following the welcome address, concurrent sessions on topics such as stormwater management, water quality, resilience, and stormwater management modeling will begin.

GKY engineers, planners, and scientists will make presentations on multiple topics drawn from their experience serving Virginia municipalities and private sector clients. Topics include:

  • Considerations When Planning a Dredging Project

  • Urban Flooding, Resilience, and the Impact on Municipal Stormwater Programming in Virginia
  • Rain-On-Grid Modeling and the Insidious Nature of Assumptions
  • The History of Phosphorus as the Virginia Stormwater Design Target Pollutant
  • Updating Dry Weather Screening Methods to More Accurately Reflect Natural Conditions

The Virginia Water Conference is presented annually by the Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Association (VLWA), a professional organization with the mission “to promote and educate the public on good lake and watershed management, encourage sustainable stormwater management practices and protect the welfare of lakes and other water resources within the Commonwealth.” The 2020 conference will be held March 9 – 10 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Richmond-Midlothian in Richmond, Virginia.
